Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has officially launched this year's Green Legacy programme under the theme 'Planting Hope' in Bishoftu.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed described the outcome of the Green Legacy initiative as green gold. He explained that it protects soil from erosion, heals a disrupted identity and builds national psychology.
The target for this year is to plant 8 billion seedlings, he noted, as part of the broader goal to reach 65 billion seedlings. He called on citizens to join the movement and leave a green legacy for future generations.
Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh stated on social media that the national work reconciles with nature and opens a new path of development.
