Ruto announces april 2027 completion for rironi-mau summit road

President William Ruto has revised the completion date for the Rironi-Mau Summit Expressway to April 2027. He also confirmed that the Rironi-Naivasha section will be ready by August this year.

Speaking at the Thika High School 70th anniversary celebrations on Friday, Ruto said construction on the Rironi-Mau Summit Expressway is advancing quickly. The government has moved the full completion forward by about three months from the original mid-2027 target.

Ruto stated that the dualling from Rironi in Kiambu to Naivasha will be finished by August. The full project is now set for April next year.

He also announced that design work for the Thika Road Expressway is nearly complete. Construction is scheduled to begin in October.

The updates come as the project continues under a public-private partnership model amid public questions about the visible pace of work.
