President William Ruto has appointed former police spokesperson Charles Owino Wahong'o as the new Government Spokesperson. The changes, announced on Tuesday, also include several nominations to constitutional bodies.
President William Ruto announced the appointments on Tuesday, July 21. Charles Owino Wahong'o was redeployed from the Ministry of ICT to the new role. Isaac Mwaura, who served as Government Spokesperson since 2022, was promoted to Head of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights.
Wilson Sossion and Antonina Lentoijoni were nominated to the Teachers Service Commission Board. Dr Duncan Ojwang Oburu was nominated as Chairperson of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority following the resignation of Issack Hassan.
Flora Mutua was nominated to the Public Service Commission. Seven individuals, including Mary Nanjala Kilobi, were nominated to the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee. The nominations require parliamentary or summit approval.
