Senegal's appeal against the disputed 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final result will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on October 8. The hearing addresses the Confederation of African Football's decision to award the title to Morocco.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed the date for Senegal's challenge to the outcome of the January 18 final. Senegal had defeated Morocco 1-0 after extra time before CAF overturned the result in March, recording it as a 3-0 forfeit victory for Morocco.
The controversy began when Senegal refused to continue play for around 17 minutes after a disputed penalty in stoppage time. Morocco's Brahim Diaz took the kick, which was saved, leading to extra time and Senegal's initial triumph.
CAF's appeal board ruled that Senegal breached regulations by its conduct, triggering a 3-0 defeat. Senegal then took the case to CAS, which rejected an expedited process. The October 8 hearing will not include an immediate decision.
