Simpar and its subsidiaries Vamos and Movida announced a private capital increase that could reach R$ 3.1 billion, with up to R$ 1.5 billion investment from BNDESPar in the three companies. The operation includes contributions from parent company JSP Participações and aims to strengthen the group's financial structure. BNDES noted that the initiative aligns with President Lula's policies for fleet renewal and sustainable transport.
Simpar, a holding in transportation and logistics, announced on March 5, 2026, a billion-dollar capital increase involving its subsidiaries Vamos, a truck rental company, and Movida, a car rental firm. The private operation could total between R$ 2.2 billion and R$ 3.1 billion, with BNDESPar, the participation arm of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development, investing about R$ 1.5 billion across the three companies.
JSP Participações, Simpar's parent, will contribute between R$ 188 million and R$ 300 million. BNDESPar will subscribe up to 50% of the issued shares, potentially reaching 10% of each company's share capital at the end. Share prices were set at R$ 11.24 for Simpar, R$ 11.72 for Movida, and R$ 3.85 for Vamos. On the day, Simpar shares closed at R$ 11.83, down 2.4%; Movida at R$ 13.33, down 6%; and Vamos at R$ 4.28, down 1.8%.
The targeted fundraising is up to R$ 2 billion for Simpar, R$ 600 million for Vamos, and R$ 750 million for Movida. Additionally, BNDESPar has an option to acquire up to 5% of JSL's capital, the group's transporter, for up to R$ 112 million, at R$ 7.89 per share or 95% of the price before exercise, within 30 days after approval.
According to BNDES, the participation aims to enable full fundraising and strengthen the capital structure, reducing financial costs and improving share pricing efficiency. Bank president Aloizio Mercadante stated: "The BNDES's actions are aligned with President Lula's government policies for renewing truck fleets and accessing light vehicles to promote safer, more sustainable transport with lower CO2 emissions".
Simpar controls companies in logistics, mobility, and infrastructure sectors, including JSL, Automob, CS Brasil, CS Infra, Ciclus, and BBC Digital.
