Sokoto government warns against fertiliser diversion as Kebbe receives 3,600 bags

The Sokoto State Government has issued warnings against the diversion of fertiliser during distribution of 3,600 bags to farmers in Kebbe Local Government Area.

The distribution took place as part of free agricultural inputs under Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration ahead of the 2026 wet season.

Retired Colonel Garba Moyi Isa, chairman of the Fertiliser Distribution Committee in Kebbe, said each of the 124 polling units would receive 15 bags of NPK fertiliser and five bags of Urea. He stated that anyone found diverting or selling the inputs would face sanctions.

Hon. Musa Garba Kuchi, chairman of Kebbe Local Government Area, urged community leaders and security agencies to monitor the process. He said the fertiliser belongs to farmers and should not reach traders or middlemen.

Stakeholders at the event commended the state government for the support aimed at boosting food production and farmers’ livelihoods.
