Steinbrück foreslår ny strategi i håndteringen af AfD

Den tidligere forbundsfinansminister Peer Steinbrück foreslår at definere røde linjer over for AfD. Han mener stadig, at en brandmur er nødvendig, men overvejer en langsigtet forandring af partiet.

Peer Steinbrück talte i podcasten “Ronzheimer”, som er værtskabt af Bilds vicechefredaktør Paul Ronzheimer, om hvordan man bør forholde sig til AfD. Socialdemokraten beskrev brandmuren som nødvendig i den overskuelige fremtid.

Samtidig rejste Steinbrück spørgsmålet om, hvordan et skift af AfD mod en højreorienteret konservativ position kunne opnås. Han foreslog at trække klare røde linjer på forskellige politiske områder.

Steinbrück henviste til ideer fra historikeren Andreas Rödder. Sidste år foreslog Rödder i Stern en betinget vilje til dialog, såfremt AfD tager afstand fra højreekstremistiske holdninger.
