Subsidiary mining land sealed by PKH task force due to illegal miners

The Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) has sealed one point in the mining area of PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM), a subsidiary of PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), due to unauthorized land clearing by illegal miners in a forest zone. The sealed area remains unmined by CPM, while main gold mining operations in Poboya, Palu, continue normally. BRMS states that gold production increases are still planned for upcoming years.

Jakarta – The Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) has sealed one point in the mining area managed by PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM) in Palu, Sulawesi. The sealing occurred after unauthorized land clearing by illegal miners was found in a forest zone. According to BRMS President Director and CEO Agoes Projosasmito, the area is part of CPM's contract of work that has not yet been mined or operated by the company.

Agoes emphasized that main operations continue smoothly. “As for the River Reef gold mine location in Poboya, Palu, which is currently operated by CPM using open pit mining method, it continues to run normally as usual,” he said on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Additionally, BRMS Director and Chief Legal Officer Muhammad Sulthon stated that CPM's gold processing facility is being upgraded from a capacity of 500 to 2,000 tons of ore per day. This upgrade is expected to be completed in October 2026 and will boost BRMS gold production that year.

BRMS Director and Chief Investor Relations Herwin Hidayat added that CPM targets starting underground gold mine operations in the second semester of 2027. The mine has a gold content of 3.5-4.9 grams per ton, expected to drive production increases by late 2027 or early 2028.
