The 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, known as the Summer Davos, began its opening plenary in Dalian on Wednesday, with Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivering a special address.
The forum, themed "Innovating at Scale," runs from June 23 to 25 and gathers more than 1,700 participants from over 90 countries and regions. Discussions focus on the next phase of China's economic trajectory and translating technological advances into real economic benefits.
Premier Li Qiang held bilateral meetings on Tuesday with the prime ministers of Guinea, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia and Montenegro. He stressed cooperation in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
Global executives voiced confidence in the Chinese market. Pontus Erntell of IKEA China said the country is one of very few outside Sweden where the firm has all parts of the value chain. Deloitte China chair Jiang Ying highlighted China's industrial system and high-level opening-up as key growth pillars.
