Tensordyne gør fremskridt med strømbesparende AI-chips

Start-up-virksomheden Tensordyne har sikret sig hensigtserklæringer til en værdi af over 200 millioner dollars for sine halvledere. Femten datacentre er interesserede i chippene, som siges at bruge langt mindre energi end Nvidias produkter.

München-baserede Tensordyne har færdiggjort chipdesignet. Kontraktproducenten TSMC står til at påbegynde produktionen. Levering af halvlederne er planlagt til slutningen af oktober.

Medstifter Gilles Backhus udtalte til Handelsblatt, at virksomheden sigter efter at fortrænge markedslederen med strømbesparende chips. Tensordynes system siges at være mere end ti gange hurtigere end gængse Nvidia-løsninger og kræver mindre plads.

Start-up-virksomheden har endnu ikke produceret en eneste chip. Den fokuserer på AI-inferens-chips til datacentre efter at have ændret sin strategi fra bilindustrien.

Nvidia and SK Hynix announced on June 8 that they have entered a multi-year technology partnership to develop next-generation memory technologies for AI factories.
