Two college students died in separate motorcycle accidents near Tambaram on Saturday. Akash, 21, crashed into a barricade at MIT flyover. Nitish, 24, was hit by an overtaking motorcycle and crashed into a wall.
Akash, a resident of Nagalkeni near Pallavaram, was riding with his friend Farook when he lost control of the high-speed motorcycle. He died at the scene from head injuries. Farook suffered fractures and was admitted to Tambaram Government Hospital.
In the second incident, Nitish, who had just received his Agricultural Engineering diploma from Bharat College three days earlier, was returning from dinner with Dr. Sevak. A motorcycle struck their vehicle during an overtake, causing Nitish’s two-wheeler to hit a wall. He was killed instantly. Sevak sustained a head injury and remains in critical condition at a private hospital.
