Chun In-gee finished alone in fourth place at the 81st U.S. Women's Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, on Sunday with a six-under total of 278, two strokes behind champion Nelly Korda. Kim Sei-young ended one stroke further back in fifth after shooting 72 in the final round. She began the day tied for the lead with world number one Korda at six-under but dropped shots on the back nine. Charley Hull of England and Gaby Lopez of Mexico tied for second at seven-under. Korda secured her second straight major title and fourth overall with a birdie on the 17th hole. Chun said afterward she felt proud to compete under major pressure and gained confidence from the week. Kim expressed disappointment over missed putts but vowed to keep trying for the U.S. Open title.
