Two youths arrested carrying homemade firearm in West Jakarta

The arrest began during a patrol led by Ipda Fitroh Nurul Fahmi from Unit 4 si Turjawali. "We suspected the rider, so we stopped them for a check, but the rider refused and sped away to escape," Fitroh told reporters on January 1, 2026.

Officers immediately pursued the vehicle. In the end, two youths were caught, while one escaped and remains at large. "Two were caught and one fled; the one who fled hasn't been found yet," he added.

A search of the two suspects yielded one homemade firearm, five rounds of sharp ammunition, and various T-letter keys suspected for use in criminal acts. The two youths are from Lampung Timur and are now detained at Polsek Kebon Jeruk for further legal proceedings. "We searched the two suspected perpetrators and found evidence including one homemade gun with five rounds of sharp ammunition and various types of T-keys," Fitroh stated.

This case highlights the police's vigilance in preventing nighttime crimes, especially those involving firearms or sharp weapons.
