VÖB-præsident Groß advarer om fortsat stagnation

Thomas Groß, præsident for den tyske forening for offentlige banker, ser stigende risici for den tyske økonomi. I et interview med Handelsblatt adresserede han vækstproblemer og mulige fordele for offentlige banker.

Året 2026 skulle have markeret et økonomisk opsving i Tyskland. I stedet er udsigterne blevet mørkere. „Faren for, at vi vil se ingen eller kun meget lav vækst for fjerde år i træk, er steget markant“, sagde Thomas Groß til Handelsblatt. Groß, som også leder Helaba, pegede på krigen i Iran, høje energipriser og handelsmæssig usikkerhed grundet amerikansk toldpolitik som årsager. Han advarede om, at fortsat stagnation ind i 2027 kunne bringe flere virksomheder i vanskeligheder. Groß betragtede et muligt Unicredit-opkøb af Commerzbank positivt. Usikkerhed hos en konkurrent kunne gavne andre banker i forhold til kundeforretninger og personalerekruttering.
