Waiguru denies asking Gachagua for forgiveness

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has denied claims that she asked former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for forgiveness, saying her remarks were misinterpreted.

Speaking at a women empowerment event in Kwale County, Ms Waiguru said she had not directed an apology at any individual.

She clarified that she had only expressed regret if some Kenyans felt wronged by government actions. “I did not ask anyone for forgiveness,” she said.

Ms Waiguru affirmed her loyalty to UDA and pledged to campaign vigorously for President William Ruto’s re-election next year. Other coastal leaders joined her at the event.
