Arizona man charged with murder after killing friend in Phoenix

Christopher Ebanks, 32, faces charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping after allegedly killing a man with a hatchet in a Phoenix apartment on May 7. Police say he forced the victim's girlfriend to help dispose of the body.

Phoenix police arrested Ebanks after the girlfriend reported the incident to her father, who contacted authorities. Officers found the victim's remains in a suitcase at Ebanks' apartment, including a dismembered body missing its head and hands. The girlfriend told investigators that Ebanks had ordered her to clean the scene and wrap the body in carpeting and an air mattress before moving it to a closet.
