Die Bakersfield Condors schlugen die Coachella Valley Firebirds im ersten Spiel ihrer Playoff-Serie der ersten Runde der Pacific Division am Donnerstagabend in der Dignity Health Arena mit 6:1. Kapitän Seth Griffith erzielte zwei Tore und führte das Team damit zum Sieg, womit eine Serie von sieben Niederlagen in der Postseason endete. Bakersfield führt die Best-of-Five-Serie nun mit 1:0 an.

Bakersfield erspielte sich zum Auftakt eine souveräne Führung, wobei Seth Griffith doppelt traf. Quinn Hutson, Sam Poulin, James Hamblin und Riley Stillman steuerten jeweils einen Treffer für die Condors bei. Viljami Marjala, Isaac Howard und Josh Brown verbuchten jeweils zwei Vorlagen, während Matt Tomkins 38 Schüsse hielt und den Sieg sicherte. Ty Nelson erzielte das einzige Tor für Coachella Valley, das in dieser Saison nun sieben von neun Spielen gegen Bakersfield verloren hat. Der Sieg beendete Bakersfields Negativserie nach Playoff-Sweeps in den Jahren 2022, 2023 und 2024. Spiel 2 findet am Samstag um 21 Uhr ET in Palm Desert statt, während Spiel 3, falls erforderlich, für Sonntag um 20 Uhr ET angesetzt ist.
