BTS tops Spotify weekly charts for second week with 'Arirang'

BigHit Music said K-pop group BTS topped Spotify's three global weekly charts for the second straight week with its latest album 'Arirang'. The group led the Weekly Top Albums Global, Weekly Top Songs Global, and Weekly Top Artists Global charts for the week from March 27 to Thursday. This follows their release on March 20.

BigHit Music announced that BTS held the top spots on Spotify's Daily Top Artists Global and Daily Top Songs Global charts for 14 consecutive days starting from the March 20 release of 'Arirang'. The album's lead track 'Swim' garnered 83 million plays on YouTube's global weekly chart and 6.2 million on the U.S. weekly chart for the week of March 20.

'Arirang' debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart this week, while 'Swim' topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The group returned as a full seven-member lineup after nearly four years without group projects. They held a promotional concert for tens of thousands of fans at Gwanghwamun Plaza in central Seoul on March 21.

BTS will launch the 'BTS World Tour Arirang' in Goyang, northwest of Seoul, on April 11 and continue through major cities worldwide into 2027.

BTS's fifth studio album 'Arirang', released March 20, topped Melon's Top 100 with lead track 'Swim' and sold over 4 million copies on day one. As the group prepares for their first full-group concert since military service at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21—announced last month with elaborate procession and production details—leader RM will limit choreography due to an ankle ligament injury from rehearsals. The free one-hour show admits 22,000 ticket holders but expects 260,000 in the area, with live Netflix streaming and bolstered security.

Following last month's announcement of their comeback album *Arirang*, BTS has topped a fan poll with 77.2% of votes as the most anticipated March act. Preorders hit 4.06 million in a week, with first-week sales projected at 4-5 million. The March 21 Gwanghwamun Square concert streams live on Netflix.
