PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo has submitted to the court investigating the DANA management in Valencia the WhatsApp messages he received from Carlos Mazón on October 29, 2024. The exchanges start at 19:59 and reveal no communication during Mazón's lunch in El Ventorro. Mazón describes the situation as a 'fucking disaster' in later messages.

On December 24, 2025, Alberto Núñez Feijóo submitted to the Court of Instruction of Catarroja a notarial act with the WhatsApp messages received from Carlos Mazón on the day of the DANA, which caused 230 deaths in Valencia province. Feijóo requested to testify as a witness on January 9 via telematic means and clarified that he only included incoming messages, as the judge did not request his own.

The messages confirm that Feijóo initiated contact at 19:59, offering his support to Mazón. The former president replied at 20:08 with 'Thanks Presi', followed by 'I'll tell you later. It's getting fucked up every minute'. At that time, Mazón had not yet arrived at the Cecopi, where he took coordination at 20:28. There was no prior communication during his lunch with journalist Maribel Vilaplana in El Ventorro.

At 21:45, Mazón wrote: 'We are overwhelmed, we don't really know what's happening but we are getting dozens of missing people and I can't confirm them'. He reported conversations with Pedro Sánchez, María Jesús Montero, Margarita Robles, and Fernando Grande-Marlaska. At 23:21, he indicated that the central government had made itself 'more or less' available and that they had obtained the Military Emergency Unit (UME), which he described as 'what we need'.

Later, Mazón alerted about unpublished deaths in Utiel and concluded: 'This is going to be a fucking disaster, presi'. The last communication was at 23:29. These messages contradict Feijóo's statement on October 31, 2024, when he said Mazón was informing him 'in real time' since the previous Monday, an error the PP attributes to day confusion. The PP emphasized its collaboration with justice and rejected 'lawfare' accusations from the Government.

The submission occurs in the context of the judicial investigation into the tragedy's management, driven by the Association of Fatal Victims Dana 29-O.

Was die Leute sagen

Discussions on X predominantly criticize PP leader Feijóo for submitting only the WhatsApp messages he received from Mazón, not those he sent, amid accusations of withholding information and lying about real-time updates during the DANA crisis in Valencia. Users highlight that messages began at 20:08, after Mazón's lunch at El Ventorro, with Mazón describing the situation as a 'fucking disaster' and criticizing the crisis cabinet. High-engagement posts from journalists and users demand accountability, while Feijóo's request for remote testimony fuels skepticism. Few neutral or positive sentiments appear.

In Spain's Supreme Court, several journalists testified that they learned of an email regarding the tax fraud of Isabel Díaz Ayuso's boyfriend before Álvaro García Ortiz received it. The testimonies bolster the attorney general's defense in the revelation of secrets trial. The November 11, 2025 session featured tensions in interrogations.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has acknowledged that it is nearly impossible for the PP to secure an absolute majority in the Extremadura elections on December 21, forcing the party to rely on Vox to govern. Meanwhile, the Junta de Extremadura, led by María Guardiola, has approved 165 million euros in aids and investments five days before the vote. These measures aim to boost sectors like self-employment and healthcare, though they spark controversy over their electoral timing.

President Pedro Sánchez appeared for nearly five hours in the Senate investigation commission on the Koldo case, facing a chaotic and aggressive interrogation from the opposition, particularly the PP. He admitted receiving legal cash payments from the PSOE under 1,000 euros but denied any knowledge of irregularities in his party or the conduct of former collaborators like José Luis Ábalos. Sánchez counterattacked by accusing the PP of corruption and described the session as a 'circus' and 'defamation commission'.
