Florida mother charged after 4-year-old drowns at pool party

A 32-year-old Florida mother faces a felony charge after her 4-year-old daughter drowned during a pool party at an apartment complex in Bradenton. The incident occurred on Saturday evening when the child slipped underwater amid a large group of adults.

Rosette Pierrecius was arrested over the weekend and charged with one count of child neglect resulting in great bodily harm. Bradenton police responded to the Kendall Ridge Apartment Complex around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday after reports of the drowning. First responders found the girl at the bottom of the pool and performed CPR, but she was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
