Früherer Färjestad-Trainer Szwoch wechselt zu den Ottawa Senators

Maciej Szwoch wurde von den Ottawa Senators im Hinblick auf die Saison 2026/27 als Manager für die Torwartentwicklung eingestellt. Die Rolle umfasst die Betreuung von Nachwuchsspielern, AHL-Spielern sowie des NHL-Kaders. Dies ist seine erste Vollzeitstelle innerhalb einer NHL-Organisation.

Szwoch war zuvor von 2015 bis zu seinem Abschied vor der letzten Saison als Torwarttrainer bei Färjestad tätig. Zudem verbrachte er mehrere Jahre bei Modo in Schweden. Während der Spielzeit 2025/26 arbeitete er auf Teilzeitbasis innerhalb der Organisation der Senators an der Seite von Torhüter Linus Ullmark.

Örebro Hockey has parted ways with head coach Niklas Eriksson after nearly ten years with the club. Martin Filander is reportedly set to become the new head coach. Eriksson expressed deep disappointment over the sudden split.

Rikard Franzén, a 58-year-old coach from AIK, will assist Switzerland's national ice hockey team at the upcoming home IIHF World Championship in Zürich. The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation announced on Monday that Franzén joins new head coach Jan Cadieux's staff. Franzén recently won the Swiss championship with Fribourg-Gottéron.

Modo Hockey is searching for a new head coach ahead of next season, with Mikael Karlberg as the club's primary target according to Expressen. Current coach Fredrik Andersson, who has a contract extending into next year, appears unlikely to remain in the role. Karlberg currently serves as an assistant with Färjestad.

Niclas Andersén is reported to be in discussions to become the new head coach of Hockeyettan club Strömsbro. The former Brynäs defenseman, who won an SM gold in 2012, has drawn interest from the club ahead of next season.
