Die New York Rangers haben Jay Leach zum Cheftrainer ihres American-Hockey-League-Farmteams, dem Hartford Wolf Pack, ernannt.

Leach wechselt zur Organisation der Rangers, nachdem er die letzten fünf Spielzeiten als Assistenztrainer in der NHL bei den Boston Bruins und den Seattle Kraken tätig war. Der 46-jährige Leach war vier Spielzeiten lang Cheftrainer der Providence Bruins und gewann zwei Division-Titel. Er fungierte zudem 2015-16 kurzzeitig als Interimstrainer bei den Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins und verfügt über eine Karrierebilanz als Cheftrainer von 139-77-16-11. Als ehemaliger Verteidiger blickt Leach auf eine 12-jährige Profikarriere zurück, in der er 499 Spiele in der AHL sowie 70 Spiele in der NHL für New Jersey, San Jose, Montreal, Tampa Bay und Boston absolvierte.
