Joseph “The Hunter” Sumabong will compete against undefeated Taiwanese fighter Jheng Ciou on July 11 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Joseph “The Hunter” Sumabong, the reigning WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight champion, is scheduled to face Jheng Ciou in the 25th edition of the Kumong Bol-Anon boxing series. The PMI Bohol Boxing Stable announced the unification bout earlier this week. Sumabong, 24, enters with a four-fight winning streak that includes a second-round knockout in December 2024 and a unanimous decision over Japan’s Takero Kitano. Ciou, from Taoyuan, Taiwan, remains unbeaten in 10 professional fights. He captured the OPBF silver minimumweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Japan’s Ryoga Hattori in March. This marks Ciou’s first bout against a Filipino opponent. The event is set for Tagbilaran City, Bohol, though the full fight card has not yet been revealed. Boholano boxing fans have shown strong interest in the matchup.
