Man named ‘Johan’ arrested for receiving stolen motorcycle in Neiva

A 29-year-old man known as ‘Johan’ was caught in the act in Neiva for the crime of receiving a stolen motorcycle. The arrest took place in the city's industrial zone, where the stolen vehicle was recovered. The suspect was handed over to the prosecutor's office.

In a joint operation by the Sijin and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), authorities arrested a 29-year-old man nicknamed ‘Johan’ in Neiva on charges of receiving stolen property. Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, confirmed the arrest occurred in the act for this offense. ‘We achieved the capture in flagrancy for the crime of receiving stolen goods,’ the officer stated.

The individual, who had prior notations as a suspect for receiving stolen property, was presented to the on-duty prosecutor's office at the URI. With him, a motorcycle was recovered that had been stolen on November 11, 2025, in the Las Palmas neighborhood, commune 10 of Neiva, via robbery. The vehicle was found in the industrial zone, the site of the arrest.

This police action highlights efforts to combat motorcycle theft in the area, recovering assets and detaining alleged receivers. The case is now under judicial review to establish responsibilities.
