Millthyme Corolla, Olympiapferd von London 2012, stirbt mit 23 Jahren

Millthyme Corolla, die in Großbritannien gezüchtete Stute, die 2012 bei den Olympischen Spielen in London mit ihrem Reiter Andrew Heffernan antrat, wurde letzte Woche im Alter von 23 Jahren eingeschläfert.

Andrew Heffernan, heute Trainer des niederländischen Teams, sagte, das Pferd habe seine Karriere geprägt. Sie belegte bei den Olympischen Spielen den 33. Platz in der Einzelwertung und nahm an den Europameisterschaften 2011 und 2013 teil. Ihr letzter internationaler Wettbewerb fand im Jahr 2017 statt.

Sarah Bullimore and her home-bred gelding Corimiro delivered a clear round inside the optimum time to take the lead at the Mars Badminton Horse Trials cross-country phase on 9 May 2026. Holly Richardson and Ballyneety Silver Service were the first pair to complete the course fault-free and inside the 11min 30sec target. Several top riders incurred penalties or suffered falls, reshaping the leaderboard.

Stuart Tinney has announced the passing of Pluto Mio, the horse that helped Australia secure team bronze at the Rio Olympics. The 28-year-old gelding died in retirement.
