Nick Bostrom weighs small AI risk for humanity's solved world

Philosopher Nick Bostrom has posted a new paper arguing that a slight chance of AI annihilating humans could be acceptable. He suggests advanced AI might free humanity from its inevitable end.

Nick Bostrom recently shared a paper outlining his updated views on artificial intelligence. In it he states that even a small risk of AI wiping out humanity may be worth pursuing because the technology could end what he calls humanity's universal death sentence and create a solved world free from suffering.
