Texas man sentenced to 45 years for murder

A Houston man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for killing a nightclub manager with his car while trying to hit his wife. Sanden James George, 37, pleaded guilty to murder in the death of 41-year-old Cindy Reyes.

The incident occurred on Aug. 18, 2024, in downtown Houston. George and his wife were celebrating her birthday at Playground, a bar and club, where he drank a bottle of Hennessy and at least three more drinks. After an argument, his wife left and he followed her on foot, assaulting her outside. Reyes, a manager at nearby Barbarella's club, and three co-workers tried to intervene and restrained him, but he broke free and got into his car.
