Texas mother arrested for unnecessary medical procedures on toddler

Kaitlyn Rose Laura, a 31-year-old Texas woman, faces charges of serious bodily injury to a child and aggravated assault after allegedly subjecting her toddler son to unnecessary feeding tubes and other treatments. Authorities say she fabricated her son's medical history over at least a year. The child improved markedly after separation from his mother.

Kaitlyn Rose Laura was arrested on March 25 by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, accused of medical child abuse spanning 2025 into early 2026. Police allege she lied to doctors at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth to obtain a feeding tube for her son in May 2025, claiming issues like failure to eat solids, seizures, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays—none supported by records. A normal EEG contradicted seizure claims, and birth records showed a routine C-section, not the traumatic delivery she described in varying accounts to staff.
