Digital Extremes revealed plans for the Warframe Tau expansion at TennoCon 2026, marking the first time players will explore beyond the Origin System.
The update will introduce the Tau Solar System later this year. Players can expect to visit Fornax, the Sentient Ring City of Tau, along with at least one additional location.
Creative Director Rebecca Ford confirmed that the Origin System will continue to receive new content. The Iceblade of Narin update is scheduled for this fall and will add an ice-themed Warframe.
A new Nightwave battle pass called Amir's Shockwave will feature a tabletop RPG narrative involving the Hex characters. This approach aims to deliver episodic stories without the resource demands of previous versions.
The expansion builds on 13 years of Warframe storytelling while keeping the existing Star Chart relevant for new and returning players.
