China unveils 10 measures to boost cross-strait ties after Cheng Li-wun's mainland visit

China's Taiwan Affairs Office announced 10 measures on Sunday to promote cross-strait economic cooperation and livelihoods, following Kuomintang chairwoman Cheng Li-wun's six-day visit to the mainland, where she met Xi Jinping. The plan has been welcomed by Taiwan industries but drawn warnings from the ruling Democratic Progressive Party.
Wang Huning addressed the Straits Forum, noting enthusiastic Taiwanese participation despite restrictions and urging delegates to stand on the right side of history.

A Chinese mainland spokesman strongly condemned Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te's new security action plans on Thursday, warning they would bring ruin to the island and expose a 'warmongering nature.' Chen Binhua accused Lai of undermining cross-Strait relations and pursuing 'Taiwan independence,' cautioning that such actions would push Taiwan into the 'abyss of war and danger.' Lai's remarks also drew criticism within Taiwan.
