50 Cent marked three Emmy nominations for his Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning on July 8. The nods came in the categories of outstanding documentary or nonfiction series, outstanding directing for a documentary or nonfiction program and outstanding picture editing for a nonfiction program.
The rapper posted on Instagram that the recognition followed widespread skepticism when he first announced the project in 2024. “Everybody had something to say when I announced it… now the Emmys got something to say too,” he wrote. “3 Emmy nominations for Sean Combs: The Reckoning. You can’t argue with the work.”
Busta Rhymes replied to the post with congratulations. The four-part series, directed by Alexandria Stapleton, premiered in December 2025 and examined the career of Sean Combs along with allegations tied to his federal case.
Combs received a 50-month sentence in October 2025 after being convicted of violating federal prostitution laws. 50 Cent said the nominations validated the storytelling efforts of G-Unit Film and Television.
