A group of 93 retired civil servants has sought an independent judicial inquiry into the July 20 police action against student protesters in Delhi, citing alleged use of pellets, Tasers and surveillance against unarmed students.
The retired officials said the alleged use of pellets, Tasers and surveillance against unarmed students demands accountability and dialogue.
The demand follows the July 20 police action during a Parliament march organised by protesting students.
The government has maintained that it will not yield to pressure from protesting groups.
