Aardman marked its 50th anniversary with project announcements at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Sunday.
Co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton joined director Nick Park and executive creative director Sarah Cox for a masterclass.
Cox announced the BBC-commissioned series Let’s Go Timmy!, a 30-episode stop-motion and 2D production set in Mossy Bottom. The show follows sheepdog Bitzer guiding Timmy and friends Yabba and Apricot to school.
She also confirmed a mid-September global cinema release for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, the franchise’s third feature. Cox revealed development on The Almost (Untold) Story of Danger Delilah, adapted from an Oliver Jeffers book, with pitching planned soon.
Phil Rynda of The Pokémon Company International discussed the Aardman collaboration Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, set in the Galar region, with new footage shown.
