President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella revealed several appointments for his government starting August 7. These include Jaime Beltrán at Housing, Mauricio Gómez Amín at Commerce, Juliana Gutiérrez at Sport, Iván Cancino at Justice and Elsa Noguera at Transport.
The announcements were made on July 7, 2026. Beltrán, former mayor of Bucaramanga, will head the Housing Ministry. Gómez Amín, former member of the Chamber of Representatives, will lead Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
Gutiérrez, business administrator and sister of Medellín’s mayor, will head the Sport Ministry. Cancino, a criminal lawyer graduated from Universidad Externado, will lead Justice.
Noguera, former mayor of Barranquilla and former governor of Atlántico, will be the Transport minister. All will take office on August 7.
