Ubisoft has released update 1.1.0 for Assassin's Creed Mirage, introducing a major free DLC expansion called Valley of Memory funded by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. The expansion offers six hours of new story content set in the AlUla region and includes various gameplay improvements. It launches on November 18, 2025, for PS5 and PS4.
DLC Overview
The Valley of Memory expansion is set before the finale of Assassin's Creed Mirage's main narrative. Protagonist Basim hears rumors that his long-lost father may still be alive and speaks with his old friend Dervis before heading to AlUla, a land of secrets, ancient ruins, and vibrant oases. Players can start the DLC after beginning the Head of the Snake mission and speaking to Dervis, or via a new main menu option for new games.
AlUla is depicted as a breathtaking region from the Golden Age of the Abbasid Empire, serving as a crossroads of civilization. Beyond the main story, new activities include Stolen Goods, where players track down secret maps, and Oud Melodies, involving chasing musical melodies that can be performed in-game.
The DLC has faced criticism for its funding by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, with concerns that it may portray the region positively amid human rights controversies.
Gameplay Improvements
The update brings several enhancements to the base game, such as Free Jump, back and side ejects, control presets, a replay missions feature called Animus Sequences, new difficulty settings including Hardened Assassin, Ultimate Assassin, and Custom Difficulty, plus Tier 3 Tool upgrades.
Additional changes include a new Engineer 2 skill allowing all tool level 1 upgrades, the option to cancel chain kills, new pickpocket-only lootable objects in AlUla, rebalanced notoriety system, improved tool aim assist, dodge opportunities after parries, and various visual and animation tweaks for more impactful combat and responsive controls.
Bug Fixes
Fixes address issues like linking claimed rewards to player accounts across saves, restricting permadeath to New Game+ starts, preventing falls on specific ledges, correcting menu offsets and localization problems, improving HDR visuals, and resolving crashes and costume animations.
