Egypt aims to boost Italian tourist arrivals through partnerships

Egypt’s tourism minister met Italian tour operators and airline executives in Rome and Milan to expand cooperation and attract more visitors.

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, held meetings with Italian tourism executives during his visit to Rome and Milan. The discussions covered joint promotional campaigns, familiarization trips, and the ministry’s aviation incentive programme for routes to Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Luxor, and Aswan.

Fathy highlighted the “Egypt Vibes” campaign and the strategy “Egypt, Unmatched Diversity.” He noted government efforts to address regional challenges and rising fuel prices while stressing the value of integrated travel packages such as Cairo with Nile cruises.

Italian executives reported strong performance in cultural tourism and multi-experience packages. They observed improved booking trends and confirmed plans for a staff trip to Egypt in December to join a marathon at the Giza Pyramids.
