Frölunda HC has not yet signed the leading center it has pursued since last season. Sport chief Fredrik Sjöström said the club remains active in the search but may shift focus if needed.
Frölunda HC has conducted extensive scouting and negotiations without landing its target player. Several candidates, including Lukas Vejdemo, Jan Mysak and Nils Åman, have instead joined other SHL clubs, while others opted for North America.
Sjöström told Hockeysverige the club is still looking. "We are still actively searching and would like to bring in one more player before the series start," he said. "It is no secret that we have been chasing a center but have not succeeded. There we will have to continue hunting."
The team aims to add at least one forward before the season opens on 19 September. If a center remains unavailable, Sjöström indicated the club could pursue a winger instead. This year's market for quality centers has been described as unusually thin.
