The government removed Macarena Cortés on Wednesday from her role as the first director of the National Service for Access to Justice and Victims' Defense. The decision was communicated in a meeting with Justice Minister Fernando Rabat.
On Wednesday morning at 8:30, Macarena Cortés was summoned to the Ministry of Justice. There, Minister Fernando Rabat and Undersecretary Luis Silva conveyed the request for her resignation.
Cortés had been appointed at the end of last year. Previously, she served as head of the Social Reintegration Division in the same ministry.
