Kenya Meteorological Service forecasts rains and cold for 15 counties

The Kenya Meteorological Service has forecast light rains in about 15 counties and persistent cool, cloudy conditions over the next five days starting Sunday.

The five-day weather advisory published on Saturday, July 11, indicates that Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi will receive light showers during the period. Other counties including Embu, Kirinyaga, Nandi, Kericho, Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira and Homa Bay are also expected to see light showers at specific times.

Besides rainfall, the weather department has warned of cool and cloudy conditions in counties such as Makueni, Nyeri, Murang'a, Kiambu, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Baringo, Narok, Kajiado and Nairobi. Night temperatures will fall to as low as 5°C in Nyandarua on Sunday and Tuesday.

In Nairobi, residents should prepare for cool mornings with night temperatures ranging between 13°C and 16°C. Daytime temperatures will remain between 24°C and 28°C.
