The D-backs scored their first run in a unique way during Saturday afternoon’s 4-2 loss against the Rockies at Coors Field. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. stole home in the second inning on a double steal with Jose Fernandez.
The D-backs trailed early after scoring six runs the previous night in a 9-1 win. On a 3-1 pitch from Colorado starter Tomoyuki Sugano to James McCann, Fernandez broke for second base. Catcher Hunter Goodman threw to second, allowing Gurriel to dash from third and slide in safely ahead of the return throw.
