Man chokes woman in California Target rampage

A California man recently released from jail attacked a woman and other shoppers at a Simi Valley Target store on June 17. Rejean Tabor was arrested after the violent incident that left one victim hospitalized.

Rejean Tabor entered the Simi Valley Target around 6 p.m. on June 17 and immediately began choking a female customer at the checkout counter. Bystanders and a loss prevention officer tried to intervene, but Tabor turned on them, including a juvenile.

Cellphone video captured the attack, with witnesses describing Tabor's bloodshot eyes and noting he appeared to be under the influence. He then assaulted a 16-year-old boy in the produce section before police arrived and took him into custody.

Tabor had been released from jail less than 48 hours earlier following a March arrest for indecent exposure and assaulting an officer. He faces charges including attempted murder, burglary, assault, battery, and cruelty to a minor. The initial victim was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition, while others received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
