Maria Zardoya releases EP 'Bloom' under Not for Radio

Maria Zardoya, frontwoman of the Marías, has released a new mini-EP titled 'Bloom' under her solo project Not for Radio. The three-track release features 'Kitten,' 'Ache,' and 'Living Room.' Zardoya announced it as her final effort under the moniker for the foreseeable future.

Zardoya debuted 'Kitten' and 'Ache' live last week during her solo performance at Coachella. She had previously played 'Living Room' on her Winter in the Garden tour earlier this year. A limited-edition flower-shaped vinyl of 'Bloom' will include a live version of 'Comet,' which she introduced on tour, along with a Not for Radio take on the Marías' hit 'No One Noticed.' Zardoya shared these details in an Instagram post announcing the surprise release a couple of days ago. The EP arrives as Zardoya begins the European leg of her tour supporting her winter album 'Melt.' She plans stops in cities including London, Paris, and Milan, performing as Not for Radio. Last year, Zardoya explained her solo venture in a Rolling Stone 'Musicians on Musicians' interview with Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury. 'I think I want to put myself in a really uncomfortable situation and try to make music outside of the band,' she said, describing recording 'Melt' in upstate New York despite her Puerto Rican roots and preference for warmth.
