Minister inspects Samsung and ELARABY factories in Beni Suef

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem toured the Kom Abu Radi industrial zone in Beni Suef with Governor Abdullah Abdel Aziz to review operations at Samsung Electronics and ELARABY Group facilities.

The tour began at the ELARABY home appliances complex, which includes units producing washing machines, motors and fans. Officials reviewed a compressor plant for air conditioners, the first of its kind in the Middle East, with an annual capacity of around two million units and export plans for half the output.

The delegation then visited the Samsung factory, which covers 366,000 square metres with investments of about $700m. The site produces five million televisions and six million mobile phones annually, with local content between 40 and 50 percent and annual exports of around $750m.

The minister also inspected the industrial wastewater treatment plant covering 12.5 feddans with EGP 500m in investments. He stressed the need to complete infrastructure projects to attract further investment.
