The Newport Jazz Festival has confirmed its lineup for the 72nd edition, returning to Fort Adams State Park in Rhode Island from July 31 through August 2. Robert Glasper joins Bilal and Ari Lennox, while Jon Batiste takes the stage with his Jonathan Batiste Trio, featuring drummer Joe Saylor and bassist Phil Kuehn on bass. Kamasi Washington and trumpeter Chief Adjuah will lead a special show celebrating the 100th birthdays of John Coltrane and Miles Davis. The festival follows last year's edition at the same venue, which included The Roots, De La Soul, Janelle Monáe, Jorja Smith, Esperanza Spalding, and Terence Blanchard.
