A 20-year-old woman has been charged with third-degree murder after fatally shooting a friend while handling a stolen gun in her Pennsylvania bedroom.
Denajah Bailey was charged following the May 20 incident in Pottstown, about 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Authorities say Bailey, Amaury Sahad and Xavier Jeffers were passing the illegally obtained firearm when Bailey pointed it at Jeffers and pulled the trigger, striking him in the head. A fourth person witnessed the event via FaceTime and heard laughter before the gunshot, according to court documents cited by KYW Newsradio. Police recovered a loaded Glock 43X handgun reported stolen from Philadelphia in December 2025. Jeffers, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene, with the coroner ruling the death a homicide. Sahad faces charges including receiving stolen property. Both suspects were arraigned with bail set and ordered to have no contact with witnesses or firearms. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 9.
