Riley Greene hit a two-run homer in the first inning to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 3-0 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday at Globe Life Field.
Greene's blast traveled a projected 386 feet down the right-field line at 107.7 mph. The Tigers held the lead throughout the contest.
Detroit starter Jack Flaherty allowed no runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out five batters, walked none and permitted just three hits.
Flaherty left after Josh Jung's two-out double in the sixth. Center fielder James Outman made a running catch on a hard-hit liner by Josh Smith in the first inning.
