Interior Secretary Doug Burgum shared a rendering of a new design for East Potomac Golf Links on Thursday, bringing the long-debated renovation of the Washington, D.C., municipal course into clearer view. The plan calls for a par-72, 7,660-yard layout with added water features and a separate practice area.
The 18-hole course would occupy most of the manmade peninsula while leaving green space at the southern tip. A nine-hole short course and practice facility are also included north of the main layout. The design comes from architect Tom Fazio and marks a shift from the original Walter Travis routing created more than a century ago.
