Brynäs loans defenseman Aron Dahlqvist to Nybro

Brynäs has loaned 19-year-old defenseman Aron Dahlqvist to Nybro Vikings for the upcoming season. The move gives the player more ice time in HockeyAllsvenskan while he remains under contract with the SHL club through 2027/28.

Nybro Vikings announced the season-long loan from Brynäs on June 12. Dahlqvist has already appeared in 30 SHL games and was selected by the Washington Capitals in the sixth round of the 2025 NHL Draft.

Brynäs sportchef Johan Alcén said the arrangement benefits the player’s development. He noted that Dahlqvist will gain valuable senior experience and thanked Nybro for the collaboration.

The loan restricts Brynäs to recalling Dahlqvist on only two occasions during the season, each limited to one week. Nybro’s defense currently includes eight blueliners, providing the teenager with increased playing opportunities.
