China has revealed a 167-member delegation, including 70 athletes, for the upcoming Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. This marks the country's largest overseas Winter Paralympics team and its most extensive participation in such an event. The athletes will compete in 71 events across six sports.
On February 27, 2026, China held a launch ceremony in Beijing for its delegation to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. The announcement came on the following Friday, highlighting a group of 70 amateur athletes—51 men and 19 women—set to participate in 71 events spanning six disciplines: Para alpine skiing, Para biathlon, Para cross-country skiing, Para ice hockey, Para snowboard, and wheelchair curling.
The athletes have an average age of 27, ranging from 18 to 40 years old, with 62 of them having prior experience in the Winter Paralympics. This delegation represents China's seventh appearance at the Games and its biggest team for an overseas edition.
Liu Zixu, a Para cross-country skier and Para biathlete who secured China's first gold medal at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics, expressed enthusiasm for the event. "It will be my second Winter Paralympics. I'm happy that I can continue to show myself on the biggest stage," Liu said. He added, "After training and technical and tactical accumulation, I hope to push my limits for a better result at these Games."
The Milan-Cortina Games are scheduled from March 6 to 15, 2026, and will feature 79 medal events. Organizers expect over 600 athletes from 52 countries and regions to take part.
