CCHS alpine ski teams excel at MIAA Championships: Boys second overall, girls strong individually

For the second straight year, the Concord-Carlisle High School boys alpine ski team placed second overall and first among Massachusetts public schools at the MIAA Alpine Skiing Championships on February 25. Theo Remington won the state slalom championship again, while the girls team delivered notable individual results.

The MIAA Alpine Skiing Championships on February 25 featured team scoring from the top three finishers per school in both giant slalom (GS) and slalom, drawing over 140 competitors. The Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS) boys team repeated their runner-up finish overall and topped public schools.

Theo Remington anchored the effort with third in GS and first in slalom, securing his second consecutive state title in the event. Jamie Poole scored 15th in GS and seventh in slalom, Will Redmond placed 37th in GS, and Jakab Renyi finished 46th in slalom.

The girls team shone individually: Julia Reynolds earned CCHS's best slalom finish since 2020 (13th) and placed 54th in GS, while Juniper Flint recorded 31st in slalom and 32nd in GS.

Building momentum, CCHS dominated the earlier Mass Bay West All-League Race on February 13 at Nashoba Valley, where the boys won with 571 points over Lincoln-Sudbury's 569, and the girls took third (541). Standouts included Remington winning boys slalom, Poole taking GS, Reynolds claiming girls GS, and Flint 10th in girls slalom. Six CCHS skiers qualified for states from this meet.

Looking ahead, Remington will compete for Team Massachusetts at the Eastern High School Championships at Attitash Ski Resort in New Hampshire.
